Job Description
The solar-heliospheric research group in the Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans and Space (EOS) and the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill a postdoctoral research scientist position in the field of space physics with an emphasis on in situ measurements of coronal mass ejections (CMEs). The appointment is expected to start in Spring 2021, although earlier or later start dates can be negotiated. The main responsibilities of this position are to update and develop fitting and reconstruction codes and conduct data analysis to study the magnetic structure of coronal mass ejections. Data from current NASA missions, such as Wind, STEREO, MESSENGER and PSP will be used. The initial appointment will be for two years with possible renewal for one additional year. The post-doctoral researcher will be funded through existing NASA and NSF grants at UNH and work under the mentorship of Prof. Nada Al-Haddad. The selected candidate will be joining the research group focusing on CMEs with Profs. Al-Haddad, Farrugia, Lugaz, and Winslow and with several other post-doctoral researchers at this time. |
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in developing codes for in situ measurements. A PhD in physics or related fields is required. |
