The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is a renowned location with prominent research programs in cardiovascular diseases. The Saha Cardiovascular Research Center (Saha CVRC) is a productive and collegial environment within the College that facilitates a broad range of cardiovascular research, with particular emphasis on vascular biology and thrombosis. With substantial extramural funding, our prominent investigators are making major advances in biomedical research. Our training programs are preparing scientists for successful careers in academia, industry, and government.
The Saha CVRC is currently seeking a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will be a core faculty member of the Saha CVRC. We invite applications from scientists with Ph.D., M.D., or M.D/Ph.D. degrees who will be expected to establish an independent, extramurally funded research program in cardiovascular research. There is a preference for candidates with current extramural funding with complimentary cardiovascular science to existing programs in the Saha CVRC. Recruited faculty will be expected to establish an innovative, independent and collaborative research program addressing significant and fundamental questions. The applicant should have a demonstrated interest in understanding the basic mechanisms of cardiovascular disease.

|Skills / Knowledge / Abilities||
Expertise in cardiovascular research. Qualifications include a strong and protracted publication record, and a history of engagement with the intra- and extra-mural research community.
Additional beneficial qualifications include demonstrated excellence in teaching, course administration and curricular management, as measured by students, peers and superiors.

The preferred candidate will have appropriate postdoctoral experience and the potential to establish an extramurally-funded research program. The preferred candidate would have working experience that emphasizes the study of the renin angiotensin system role in the development of aortic diseases.
