Required Related Experience | Experience with cell culture, molecular biology, histological analysis of tissues/atherosclerotic lesions, animal models of inflammation, atherosclerosis, vascular diseases, lipid metabolism are desirable. All applicants should have excellent English oral and written communication skills. |

Physical Requirements | Standing at the bench for extended periods. Sitting at desks and computers for long periods. Walking some extended distances to locations of need for use of service centers or collaborations as example. Lifting of objects up to 25 pounds. |
Shift | Typically Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, with some nights and weekends possible due to experimentation. |
Job Summary | A postdoctoral fellow position is available to study molecular level atherogenic activities of Serum Amyloid A in the joint lab of Dr. Lisa Tannock, M.D., and Dr. Preetha Shridas, Ph.D. in the Department of Internal Medicine and the Saha Cardiovascular Research Center at The University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. We are seeking outstanding scientists with Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degrees. The ideal candidate will have research experience in the field of cardiovascular disease events and the development of atherosclerosis, but outstanding candidates with experience in other areas will be considered. |
