A postdoctoral fellow position is available to study molecular level atherogenic activities of Serum Amyloid A in the joint lab of Dr. Lisa Tannock, M.D., and Dr. Preetha Shridas, Ph.D. in the Department of Internal Medicine and the Saha Cardiovascular Research Center at The University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. We are seeking outstanding scientists with Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degrees. The ideal candidate will have research experience in the field of cardiovascular disease events and the development of atherosclerosis, but outstanding candidates with experience in other areas will be considered.
Responsibilities of the position include working with Dr. Lisa Tannock, M.D., and Dr. Preetha Shridas, Ph.D to conduct NIH-sponsored research on mechanisms of inflammation and atherosclerosis, inflammatory responses and related outcomes, to include designing and conducting experimental studies within an interdisciplinary team; and organizing, analyzing, and presenting experimental data. Experience with cell culture, molecular biology, immunohistochemistry techniques, animal models of disease and both human and animal model equivalent physiology are desirable. All applicants should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
