Faculty, Tenure-Track, Neuroscience (Neurodegenerative Diseases) - Neurobiology and Anatomy, McGovern Medical School

Job Description


The Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy (https://med.uth.edu/nba/ ) at McGovern Medical School (https://med.uth.edu/ ) at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth-https://www.uth.edu/ ) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in the areas of brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases.  We seek applications from candidates who explore molecular, cellular, neuroimmunological, and/or circuit mechanisms underlying these conditions, or who develop novel approaches to treat these disorders.

 

McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston is located within the Texas Medical Center (https://www.tmc.edu/ ) and its very rich and collaborative neuroscience community, including The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine, Rice University, and the University of Houston.

 

Position Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Developing a strong, independent research program

  • Establishing interdisciplinary collaborations, and securing extramural funding  

  • Contributing to our departmental teaching mission

  • Mentoring graduate students, medical students, and postdoctoral fellows

 

 

 


 

Qualifications:
