Summary of Position
Under general direction of Dr. Elizabeth Humphreys, this position will be responsible for the leadership and administrative management of the New England Regional Genetics Network. The position will also include Co-Principal responsibilities for the New Hampshire Maine Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Programs. Funding for this position is awarded by the Health Resources and Services Administration in two competitive application processes. Programs place a strong emphasis development of infrastructure, training and supports for individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities and genetic conditions. The Assistant Research Professor will join the IOD’s multi-disciplinary team of faculty.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications
- Health professional with an earned doctorate in one of the required core disciplines (Audiology, Family, Genetics, Health Administration, Medicine/Pediatrics, Nursing, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Public Health Policy, Social Work, Speech-Language Pathology, Special Education/Education) and demonstrated skills in planning, coordination, and administration of a major federally-funded project; OR a currently approved LEND Program Director, with seven (7) or more years, of experience in programs serving children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, genetic conditions, and other special health care needs.
- Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Research Professor. Research Assistant Professor shall have completed formal advanced study appropriate to his/her field and shall have demonstrated success in carrying out externally funded research.
- Demonstrated success in academic instruction, advising and mentoring graduate students, and providing service to the university and profession.
- Documented experience successfully managing federal and or state grants and contracts.
- Documented record of external funding support through grants, contracts, and fee-for-service.
- Must show excellence in, or a demonstrated commitment to, working with diverse populations including individuals with lived experience, their families, and other related stakeholders.
- Documented commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through research, service, teaching, or volunteerism.
- High degree of self-motivation, initiative, and ability to work both independently and with diverse constituencies.
- Willingness to travel as required, both regionally and nationally.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and communication skills.
- Ongoing supervisory experience which includes support of several types of employees.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated contribution to the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of and experience in the early childhood sector (infant mental health, early childhood special education, early intervention).
- Ability to collaborate with individuals and groups of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation, disability, and/or ethnic backgrounds.
- Knowledge of key federal and state policies and programs that impact the lives of people with disabilities (Medicaid, Social Security, Education, Labor, Housing, etc.).
- Ability to design, conduct, and evaluate independent research and supervise all phases of project for which responsible.
- Publication record, including peer reviewed publications, which reflects experience in relevant areas of disability policy and services, with a commensurate research funding history.
- Lived experienced and or connection to disability.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
