Job Details:
Responsibilities

Laboratory experimentation with a focus on rock mechanics, deformation, and fluid flow.

Computational approaches applied to problems of coupled deformation and fluid flow; or analysis and modeling of geodetic or seismological data.

Contribute to, and help lead, research within a vibrant and diverse group that includes undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and laboratory staff working on problems in geofluids, geomechanics, and tectonics.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field within the last three years.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with active source seismic data acquisition, processing, and interpretation is required. Experience with full waveform inversion is preferred.


Salary Range

  • $65,000 depending on qualifications

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
