The Center for Applied Cognitive Science (CACS) run by Dr. Cristine Legare at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Research Program Coordinator to manage and coordinate research operations. Earliest start date is 10/01/2022. Position is for one year with the possibility of extension depending on funding availability and performance.

Purpose
The Research Program Coordinator will work closely with Dr. Legare, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers to coordinate and implement international cognitive science research. In addition, the Research Program Coordinator supervises and trains undergraduate research assistants, manages grant expenses and budgets, maintains databases, and provides support for research reports, operation, applications.
Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in project management and social science research. This position provides opportunities to work with international research teams, develop skills in data science, and co-author empirical publications.
Responsibilities
Coordinate recruitment and implementation of international social science research with children, adolescents, adults, and non-human animals
Supervise the collection, transcription, coding, and storing of data
Supervise research assistants (scheduling and training) and support lab staff, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students
Manage grant projects, including facilitating the investigation of new technical concepts and applications. Prepare budgets and write technical proposals/reports for new and existing projects.
Interface with funders, scientific partners, and principal investigators on a regular basis to ensure sponsor satisfaction of project/program execution.
Manage project budget, schedule, and resources to ensure the successful and timely execution of project deliverables
Maintain project ethics approvals and assist with applications
Provide clerical support, including processing documentation, reports, references, file organization, record keeping, maintenance of training logs, and data infrastructure management
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in relevant fields including Social, Biological, or Information Science, Business Administration, or Human Resources, and three years' relevant experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Ability to manage an active and large research laboratory and meet deadlines.
Must be skilled with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with administrative software required.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a Social, Biological or Information Science field.
Experience conducting research in social or biological sciences, including familiarity with data storage, data entry, and data management.
2+ years of project management experience.
Experience working with human subjects and ethics review systems.
Proficiency with statistical techniques and software (R).
Salary Range
$37,908-$56,868 annually depending on qualifications

May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity.
Requires a high degree of autonomy and ability to develop tasks and manage timelines.
