Summary:

 

Conduct independent researchactivities under the guidance of Professor Michael R. Zalutsky in preparationfor a full time academic or research career.

Work Performed (i.e. Duties):

·      Theconscientious discharge of research or scholarship responsibilities that arefocused on the development of new radioact ive molecules for the diagnosis andtreatment of cancers

·      Co nformanceto standards of responsible conduct in research

·      P ursuerefereed publication and support the development of extramurally-sp onsoredresearch projects

·       Compliancewith good scholarly and research practice

·       Maintenanceof a laboratory notebook and /or other comparable records of research activity,which remains the prop erty of Duke University upon termination

·      Adherenceto Unive rsity standards regarding use of radionuclides, chemicals, infectiousage nts, animals, human subjects, and the like

 

·      Openand timely discussion with the mentor regarding all facets of the PostdoctoralAppoi ntee's research activities. Postdoctoral Appointees are encouraged tocon sult the AAMC Compact Between Postdoctoral Appointees and Their Mentors forsuggested guidelines for the Postdoctoral Appointee-mentor relationsh ip

·      Promptdisclosure to the mentor regarding the possession and desire to distributematerials, reagents, software, copyrightable an d potentially patentablediscoveries derived from the Postdoctoral Appoin tee's research.

·       Collegialconduct towards members of the Ra diopharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory andothers as described in the Duk e University School of Medicine Honor Code ofProfessional Conduct and other relevant conduct policies pertaining to otherschools at Duke Univers ity.

·      < /span>Compliancewith all applicable University and departme ntal policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

·       ThePostdoctoral Appointee holds a PhD or equ ivalent doctorate (e.g. ScD, MD, DVM)in organic or radiochemistry. Candi dates with non-US degrees may be required toprovide proof of degree equi valency.

Experience:

·      Syntheticorganic chemistry

·      Handlingradioactivity

·      Radiochemistryof Astatine-211
