RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, SENIOR - Immunology

Occupational Summary
We are interested in recruiting a highly self-motivated individual with a doctoral degree and postdoctoral (3yrs+) experience in molecular biology and experimental techniques related to genomics, metabolomics, and/or the microbiome. Strong analytical skills including familiarity with statistical software (e.g., R, PRISM). We are broadly interested in inter-disciplinary thinkers with strong evidence of working independently and as part of a team.
Experience in the isolation and characterization anaerobic bacteria and a strong background in bacterial genetics is a plus. Applicants are also expected to have experience with mentoring and training post-bacs and predoctoral trainees. Must have excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
Work Performed
Conduct research under the direction of the Principal Investigator to meet stated specific aims of sponsored research. Perform high-quality analyses, generate presentations and written and verbal summaries of research findings. Additional tasks include:
· Develop standardized operating procedures for all new assays performed in the lab
· Participate in drafting of abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and grant applications
· Participate in and presenting at domestic/international meetings relevant to our research
· Function as a resource for early-stage scientists (undergraduate and graduate students, laboratory technicians, junior postdoctoral researchers)
