The Biology Instructional Office and the Department of Neuroscience in the College of Natural Sciencesat the University of Texas at Austin invite applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor of Instruction starting in the fall of the 2023-2024 academic year. A major responsibility of the successful candidate will be to teach an introductory, lecture-based neuroscience course to undergraduates, as well as an undergraduate neurophysiology lab. The College is interested in and values candidates who have experience working with diverse and underserved populations, and have demonstrated a commitment to improving the diversity, equity and inclusivity of their academic communities.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess an M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree in either neuroscience or a relevant field, from an accredited institution. Successful candidates will have experience with electrophysiological and optical imaging approaches in brain slices. Quantitative abilities and some computer programming skills are also desired, as well as excellent written and spoken communication skills. Postdoctoral experience is preferred, but not required.
Must be eligible to work in the US on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
