I. JOB OVERVIEW


Job Description Summary:
The Center Clinic is a community mental health center housed within the George Washington University’s Professional Psychology Program. This nonprofit clinic is staffed by clinical externs who are advanced doctoral students. The Center Clinic provides mental health services to a variety of populations, including college students, children and adolescents, adults with career and personal concerns, the LGBTQIA+ community, ethnic minorities and senior citizens.
Reporting to Prof. Loring Ingraham, Professor of Clinical Psychology, the incumbent part-time Staff Psychologist will be responsible for the following and other training initiatives and outreach activities as needed:
Duties:

  • Clinical supervision (therapy or assessment) of 5-6 students.
  • Responsible for drafting and distributing weekly Clinic announcements to students and faculty as well as the updated clinic policies and procedures.
  • Responsible to update Clinic Manual and Protocols annually.
  • Oversee students phone interview, intake, and emergency cell phone rotations.
  • Manage bi-annual clinical evaluation process and oversee Center Clinic billing and payment process.
  • Meet with clinic’s student workers and provide support to Clinic’s postdoctoral fellows.
  • Respond to emails/student questions about clinical training, Clinic policies/procedures.
  • Maintain regular communication with affiliate sites
  • Lead clinical trainings on crisis intervention, phone screenings, and clinical procedures.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Doctorate degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of relevant experience. Licensed in Washington, D.C. or eligibility for Washington D.C. clinical licensure within six months of hire.
