Introduction to the job

This role will manage a group of Project Leaders within EUV Operations whose scope includes construction and demolition of large scale engineering test equipment as well as serving as the voice of Manufacturing into cross site and cross department changes. This role will also serve as a strategic partner to Development to balance needs of new equipment installs with the physical constraints of the facility and work to collaborate to mutually beneficial solutions.

Role and responsibilities
  • You will be the leader of the team/department that:
  • Ensures the safety of our employees in cooperation with the Environment, Health, & Safety department
  • Manages the construction and demolitions of large scale Engineering Test Rigs Provides site level inputs to successfully balance program management needs with physical constraints of the site to manage large equipment installs and demolition
  • Manages change implementation from Development and Engineering changes to the production floor in San Diego Factory
  • Assures the quality products are shipped to our internal and external customers
  • Develops and executes cost reduction roadmaps for new and existing products Fosters a Lean Manufacturing culture
  • Introduces new products into production in an existing "Concurrent Engineering" environment.
  • Interfaces with internal and external customers regarding the build and test of assemblies and final products
  • Creates and manages improvement plans in support of product development roadmaps
  • Implement best practices in the areas of lean manufacturing, project management, and manufacturing technologies
  • Works with the other departments in operations to ensure we ship quality products on time and with excellent quality
  • Works in a corporative way with other sectors of the business (D&E, R&D, Customer service) to support the development of new products and to support the current installed base and source roadmap
  • Develops budgets for the operation of the department and capital improvement programs to further the companies goals and objectives
  • Develops continuing education programs and career development opportunities for your employees

Education and experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent sciences
  • At least 10 years of direct engineering relevant, work related experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of management or indirect leadership experience, including people or project management.
  • A practitioner of disciplined problem solving methodology such as 6 sigma and working knowledge of LEAN waste reduction.
  • Experience executing cost reduction roadmaps for new and existing products.
  • Experience creating and managing improvement plans in support of product development roadmaps
Skills
  • Skilled in identifying and implementing best practices in the areas of lean manufacturing, project management, and manufacturing technologies.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other department heads in operations ensuring quality products are shipped on time and with excellent quality.
  • Ability to work in a corporative way with other sectors of the business (D&E, R&D, Customer service) supporting the development of new products.
  • Highly skilled in executing budgets for the operation of the department and capital improvement programs furthering the companies goals and objectives.
  • Ability to execute continuing education programs and career development opportunities for employees.
  • Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work.
  • Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency and professionalism.

Role within the Factory

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee is required to work in a cleanroom environment: full gowning (full body coveralls, hood, CR safety shoes, face mask, nitrile gloves and safety glasses. Working under ISO 9000/14000 standards).
  • Operating/working around overhead cranes, fork trucks and motorized pallet movers.
  • Working around lasers; working with ladders; working on platforms; and working around chemicals.
  • The employee is occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • May require travel dependent on company needs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $126,000-$210,000. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
