Job Mission

The role of Laser Computational Modeling and Simulation Scientist will focus on the developing simulations and models that can be used to predict laser performance for future EUV Sources.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Job Description

  • Work with team to define new models or improvements to current models.
  • Define how to create/improve model for review by team.
  • Determine effort level and technical risk of work prior to starting.
  • Implement planned work in computational model.
  • Define data needed for anchoring model.
  • Review model performance vs measured data.
  • Create documentation that describes functionality, implementation and use of model.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Must be pursuing a degree in a physical science (Physics, Optics, Material Science)
  • Knowledge or experience using programming and scripting languages (Matlab, python, C++)
  • Familiar with principles of lasers and optical systems
  • Ability to break down complex problems into clear plan for solving.
  • Experience using commercial modeling software (Zemax, CodeV, COMSOL, etc) is preferred but not required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
  • Work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrate open, clear, concise and professional communication.

Travel

  • This position will not require travel.

Other Information

  • This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA . It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
