About the Role:

Manages functions within the Medical Communications department including Medical Information and Medical Content Development, provides expert therapeutic input and works cross-functionally in multiple work-streams throughout the company.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Utilize therapeutic area (TA) expertise to develop and communicate scientific platforms through insightful contributions to the publication plan and other Medical Communication deliverables

  • Research and respond to Level 2 Medical Information (MI) request escalations using various search and retrieval techniques to develop a medical/scientific response that is accurate, fair balanced, and delivered in a timely manner

  • Serve as an expert Medical resource to the MI Call Center vendor and internal stakeholders

  • Create and maintain an up-to-date library of Medical content for communication with Health Care Practitioners including: standard response letters for unsolicited medical information requests, slide decks, and frequently asked questions (FAQs) response documents

  • Generate and review TA relevant content and provide input at MRC and PRC

  • Manage the staffing and operations of Medical Affairs booth at scientific conferences

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • PharmD, PhD or equivalent and 3+ years of Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry in a Medical Communications role. Some managerial / functional management or lead experience preferred OR

  • MD and some industry and/or Medical Communication experience

  • Requires understanding of how the team / work area relates to other related areas and uses that knowledge to improve efficiency and produce high-quality work on problems with cross-functional impact

  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems/problems relating to own discipline

  • Frequently works cross-functionally as the representative for their area

  • Strong leadership, accountability, interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and

  • Proficiency in the use of PowerPoint

  • Proficiency in the use of literature searching databases

  • Proven ability to perform in-depth literature research, analysis and interpretation of medical data

  • Proven ability to assemble evaluated information into an accurate, comprehensive and concise standard medical response document

  • Knowledge of all legal and regulatory guidelines affecting the dissemination of medical information and product promotion

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $125,700.00-$182,250.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
