About the Role:

Reporting to the Director of Medical Communications, the Medical Training Manager leads/manages the Medical Affairs (MA) Training strategy and creates and executes tactical plans for the MA training function. This position works closely with cross-functional partners including Field Medical teams, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), and Medical Communications leadership to develop and deploy on-boarding and continued training curriculum for MA.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Manages training function/team within the Medical Communications department

  • Builds training goals, strategy and executes yearly training plans as they relate to all therapeutic areas

  • Works with functional leads to develop and deploy role-specific onboarding training and continuing education

  • Develops and executes yearly training budget

  • Manages external vendors and internal teams in developing training materials and content for Medical Affairs

  • Works with internal stakeholders (including IT) to manage training portals

Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree in Life Sciences or similar field and 12+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in a Medical Affairs role (MSL, Med Pubs and/or Med Comm) with direct Operational experience preferred. Previous managerial / functional management experience also required OR

  • Master's degree in Life Sciences or similar field and 10+ years of similar experience noted above OR

  • PhD or PharmD and 7+ years of similar experience noted above OR

  • MD and 3+ years of similar experience noted above OR

  • Strong written communication skills including publication/medical writing experience is required

  • Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to build successful relationships with internal experts/teams and other stakeholders

  • Ability to analyze and summarize data, think critically, manage projects, influence others, work in a team environment, and synthesize complex clinical and non-clinical statistical and medical information to effectively communicate medical and scientific information are required

  • Excellent presentation and highly proficient computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to build successful relationships with internal experts/teams and other stakeholders

  • Job Specific Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and apply the principles of adult learning to the development of disease state and therapeutic training for on-boarding and continuous learning needs of medical affairs staff

  • Knowledge in neuroscience or endocrinology disorders is highly preferred

  • Ability to analyze and summarize data, think critically, manage projects, influence others, work in a team environment, and synthesize complex clinical and non-clinical statistical and medical information to effectively communicate medical and scientific information are required

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $181,500.00-$263,325.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
