Poole College of Management has four academic departments: Accounting, Business Management, Economics, and Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. Essential Job Duties
- Develop written and multimedia content for the Poole Thought Leadership platform.
- Identify needs to support written content with original or curated visual content, including photography, videography, infographics, etc.
- Provide analytics reports with actionable insights and implement them in editorial planning.
- Utilize media tracking service to monitor media placements of Poole College experts and generate original content to promote these stories.
- Develop Poole Thought Leadership content on other subject-matter areas as needed.
- Work with the Director of Communications and Associate Dean for Faculty and Research to identify key news topics and events that Poole faculty could provide thought leadership on.
- Edit and publish the monthly Poole Thought Leadership e-newsletter.
- Help guide the evolution of the Poole Thought Leadership platform to its next iteration.
- Collaborate with University News Services to elevate the visibility of Poole faculty experts through local and statewide media relations.
- Serve as a member of NC State’s Research Communications Council.
- Help manage external vendors such as designers and videographers.
Other Responsibilities

Minimum Experience/Education
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Other Required Qualifications
- Exceptionally strong research and/or business writing skills; excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills across a variety of formats.
- Technical skills: Advanced knowledge of Wordpress or another content management system, SEO, web analytics tools, email marketing software and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Media relations experience: pitching stories, preparing subject-matter experts for interactions with the media.
- Project management skills: strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, administrators and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient understanding of business and economic issues/topics is preferred.
- Experience in higher education and/or a business school is strongly preferred.
- Experience in marketing, communications, or a closely related field.
