MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Psychology, Communications, Human Development, or related field and two years of experience working with students in a higher education environment. Ability to multitask, problem solve, work independently, utilize good judgment, and perform detailed tasks accurately. Willingness to accommodate requests for support outside of regular business hours on occasion, with appropriate notice.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Counseling Studies, Higher Education, General Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or other related field and/or related field and experience in student counseling/advising or higher education. One year of experience in Colleague (database software).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build and maintain relationships with admission professionals. Compile records of office activities and maintain a database system (colleague); update and maintain databases such as mailing lists and contact lists. Coordinate college event planning and implementation. Coordinate information both internally and externally with broad constituents. Educate families about college admissions and financial aid or scholarship possibilities. Educate students on appropriate interviewing techniques, self-assessment tools, and application essay writing techniques. Follow up as appropriate via email, telephone, Zoom, Teams, or other virtual platforms. Provide guidance and resources to students as they navigate the college search and application process. Handle incoming inquiries and requests and prepare written responses to routine inquiries. Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a comprehensive admissions program. Maintains the security of test materials, including test batteries, score stencils, answer keys, answer sheets and score reports. Provides accommodations to applicants or students who have documented special needs or special circumstances. Scores and reports test results without undue delay. Ensures accurate entry of test data into the campus-wide record keeping system. Completes test reports and high school transcripts as requested by students. Assist students in interpreting and understanding testing results.

SALARY:

Salary commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, paid annual and sick leave, and the State of North Carolina Benefits Program.
