Faculty Position in Vision Research at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor Rank
Job Description
Position: The Department of Ophthalmology is engaged in a multi-year program to expand its research faculty. We are initiating a search for research faculty at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. The candidate will be expected to develop a substantial research program and engage in medical student, resident and fellow education, and participate in campus graduate programs. Candidates from any field are welcome to apply to study basic and translational aspects of the visual system. We especially encourage applications from mid and senior level applicants studying stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, genome engineering, neurobiology, genetics, cell and molecular biology, and artificial intelligence.

Requirements:PhD, or MD, or MD/PhD degree (or equivalent degree), at least 3 years of postdoctoral experience, and evidence of high quality independent research.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See [Table 5](https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2023-24/oct-2023-acad-salary-scales/t5-summary.pdf). The minimum base salary range for this position is $112,500 - $297,200. The total negotiated salary for this position will include another component at the time of hire. This position includes membership in the [health sciences compensation plan](https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
