Responsibilities

A postdoctoral position is available at the Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) working with Drs. Richard Dortch and Ashley Stokes as part of a collaborative effort between the Barrow Neuroimaging Innovation Center and the Departments of Neurology Neurosurgery and Neuroradiology. This translational work will focus on the development and application of advanced structural and functional imaging biomarkers with a focus on immediate clinical integration and research applications. Applicants will have opportunities to directly interact with collaborators in neuroradiology neurosurgery and industry. Motivated candidates will also have opportunities to develop independent and relevant research projects. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics engineering or a related discipline. Competitive candidates will have experience with MRI biomarkers and analyses pipelines. Experience with MATLAB and/or Python coding is preferred. This position which is fully funded for two years (and renewable up to three years based on performance) is available immediately and offers competitive compensation and benefits. Outstanding imaging resources are available at BNI including a fleet of clinical 1.5 T and 3.0 T scanners (GE and Phiips) research-dedicated 3.0 T scanners (GE and Philips) a 7.0 T preclinical Bruker MRI microPET and optical imaging scanners. The Barrow Neuroimaging Innovation Center has a long-standing tradition of developing new imaging technologies and bringing them to market. To facilitate this we have established strong collaboration with industry partners which ensures that the novel imaging methods developed at BNI are translated into product sequences for widespread dissemination. The BNI is also a major hub for neuroscience research and a wide range of neurology subspecialties. In support of this effort the Barrow Neurological Foundation provides robust philanthropic support exceeding $18M/year all of which benefits patient care research and education at BNI.

Qualifications
 
Research experience leading to Doctoral degree. Ph.D. D.Sc. M.D. in clinical neuropsychology or clinical psychology from an APA approved program Required. Ability to conceive new/innovative ideas or solutions with good logic and problem solving skills; ability to communicate write advise and counsel on extremely complex and technical matters.

Pay Range
$22.95 - $33.28 /hour
