Job Description
The undergraduate nursing program at Salem State University is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track, nine-month contract faculty position in medical surgical nursing to begin Fall 2025. Our teaching opportunities are primarily in adult health, health assessment, fundamentals, and acute care nursing. The School of Nursing seeks faculty members who are dedicated to educational excellence, thrive in a student centered teaching program, and have a strong interest in preparing a nursing workforce able to meet the many challenges of today’s health care environment. Faculty members also serve the department through curriculum development, program evaluation, and policy development and evaluation.

Candidates are required to perform duties in accordance with the MSCA contract. Duties include teaching, advising, scholarship and contributions to continuously improve the department and university. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The position is subject to available funding.
Required Qualifications:
- A master of science in nursing (MSN)
- A minimum of 5 years of current RN practice experience in an acute care setting
- Possession of active Massachusetts RN license
Preferred Qualifications:
- An earned doctoral degree in nursing or a related discipline
- Evidence of beginning program of research
- Experience in: undergraduate nursing curriculum, instructional technologies, program development and evaluation
- Experience in and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring in a multi-racial, multi-ethnic environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles
- Previous teaching experience at the college/university level is strongly preferred
