Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Admissions will lead talent acquisition activities for online masters programs at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business.
This role will assist in leading and enhancing the recruiting strategy to attract, recruit, evaluate and yield high-ability and high-potential candidates to the graduate division of the Gabelli School of Business.
This position requires some work hours on weekends, evenings and possible travel domestically and internationally.
Essential Functions
- Represents the entire suite of GSB online graduate programs at events, tours, and fairs, designs and delivers online and in-person information sessions, and follows up with prospective students to drive applications and yield.
- Identifies new opportunities to connect with candidates and designs events and activities to reach working professionals who could benefit from graduate management education in concert with the faculty directors, career services staff, and academic advisors.
- Engages with and counsel prospective students on admissions requirements, policies and procedures, and topics related to enrollment (prerequisite courses, curriculum, student aid, and career opportunities) in large and small group formats, email, or virtual platforms (e.g., Skype, Zoom, WeChat, WhatsApp, etc.).
- Assesses candidates’ academic record, motivation, initiative, leadership potential, work/life experience, extracurricular activities, and educational/personal achievement as it relates to preparedness for graduate study for the purpose of admissions.
- Organizes and/or supports recruiting and yield events for the entire Gabelli graduate admissions team held in-person and/or virtually.
- Represents admissions at one or more cross-functional teams with colleagues in academic advising, career development, and alumni relations to serve students in an end-to-end process

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related area
- Minimum 3 years equivalent experience/training
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills; excellent diplomacy skills to handle complex situations with multiple stakeholders, strong interpersonal and team skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make admissions recommendations in a competitive admissions environment.
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training and/or working knowledge of graduate management education.
- Experience interacting with the working professionals population.
- Experience managing user-facing technology applications (e.g., Slate, Salesforce, etc.).
- Experience working with a diverse group of peers, faculty, administrative personnel, and graduate students.
Minimum Starting Salary: $67,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $75,000
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
