POSITION TITLE: Research Assistant I
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Chanda Lab is seeking a highly motivated individual to support new technology development. The work will facilitate anti-tumor and auto-immune drug discovery targeting novel biological functions. Under this role, the ideal candidate will work in a team environment to support the execution of key high-throughput assays, construct critical molecular toolkits, develop and validate new in vitro assays.
RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES:
- Molecular cloning.
- Human primary cell and cell line culture, preparation of media and reagents.
- Lentivirus production.
- Execute high-throughput assays against for screening campaigns.
- Data analysis and lab notebook documentation.
- The position requires great attention to detail, dexterity of the hands, troubleshooting capability and flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or related field and 1-3 years of related experience required.
- Experience in working with mammalian cells is required.
- Experience with molecular cloning is preferred.
- Experience with database interface and data analysis using Excel and Prism is preferred.
- Experience with automated liquid handling instruments is a plus.
- Experience with gene expression analysis (RT-qPCR, NGS, etc.) is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Letter of recommendation and/or at least one professional reference is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position works in a laboratory environment.
- Details of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.
COMPENSATION: The expected hiring range for this position is $20.67 to $25.06 per hour, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
