|Summary of Position||
The Garnas lab (http://mypages.unh.edu/garnaslab ) seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar to address basic and applied questions related to beech bark disease in eastern North America. A successful project will focus on eco-evolutionary feedbacks of relevance to the scale insects and multiple fungi associated with this disease, including those mediated via host tree response. Other elements of the project will be of the postdoctoral scholar’s own design. Candidates focused on conceptual or theoretical approaches to understanding complex dynamics and community feedbacks in ecological systems are also encouraged to apply.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a related field and have a strong interest in field ecology and evolutionary biology as well as in applying molecular and/or histological tools in natural (non-model) systems.

|Additional Job Information||
Involvement with and mentorship of students and lab technicians is likely. Opportunities to hone teaching skills via guest lectures will also be provided, depending on interests. The successful candidate must be able to work productively with people of varying backgrounds to contribute to an inclusive space.

PhD in related field (Ecology, Evolution, Entomology, Pathology, Forestry, etc.).
|Additional Preferred Qualifications||
Experience with molecular tools and/or theoretical/modeling approaches to disease ecology preferred. Field experience/willingness is also a plus.
