|Job Description Summary:||
The Program Associate works closely with the Director of Operations and Projects and Senior Associate Vice Provost for Research within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) on special programs and projects, specifically related to supporting the postdoctoral trainee population at the George Washington University (GW). As a key member of OVPR’s central operations team, this position provides support to the overall research enterprise at GW and plays a critical role in initiatives to support postdoctoral associates and postdoctoral scholars. They will conduct best practice research, prepare standard operating procedures, guidance and workflows, develop communications and outreach materials (in partnership with the Research Communications Associate), participate in project meetings as needed, and prepare additional materials for end users and executive updates. They will also manage ongoing operations related to the postdoctoral trainee population at GW that may include: leave tracking, performance management, annual appointment, mentoring resources, etc. They will serve as the first point of contact for postdoctoral trainees and faculty mentors from the initial recruitment and appointment periods through the time the appointment ends. They also may work to support other initiatives managed by OVPR’s central operations team, as needed.
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Strong administrative experience and organizational skills.

• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Demonstrated project and/or program support experience, including preparing project materials and executive updates.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office including Visio.
• Requires a strong work ethic, proactive, professionalism, and commitment to integrity.
• Demonstrated ability to perform data research, multitask and effectively prioritize and manage time.
