|Summary of Position||
The Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA) and the Center for Acoustics Research & Education (CARE) seek a dynamic, engaged scholar to serve as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Acoustic Ecology and the CARE Associate Director of Education for a three-year, term-limited position. We seek applicants with lived experiences and/or professional service informed by worldviews and/or perspectives about minority group status including race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, and disability and who are committed to work in and foster a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment at UNH. The successful candidate will bring expertise in Bioacoustics and Acoustic Ecology, or a closely related acoustic field. The ideal candidate has a doctorate in Bioacoustics, Agroacoustics, Wildlife Science, Oceanography, Marine Resources, or a similar discipline. The ideal candidate also will demonstrate evidence of teaching and research excellence and a strong record of mentoring at undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Duties of the position include conducting research within the scholar’s areas of expertise, teaching 2 courses per year in the first year and 3 courses per year thereafter, advising undergraduate students, serving as the COLSA representative in CARE, and engaging in Departmental and program governance. As the CARE Associate Director of Education, the candidate would work with CARE leadership to oversee student recruitment, acoustics-related opportunities for student research, and program public relations.
