Applications are sought for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the fields of Computational Medicine and Biomedical Data Science at the Roux Institute at Northeastern University, Portland ME.
This position will be within the Life Sciences and Medical Research vertical of the Roux Institute. The postdoc will contribute a research project underway with physicians working in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) of the Maine Medical Center. The project will develop machine-learning algorithms that operate in real-time on EHR data, vital signs data, and features derived from continuous physiological waveform data to make advanced predictions of the health-care trajectories of CTICU patients. The position will be jointly supervised by: Professor Raimond L. Winslow, Director of Life Sciences and Medical Research at the Roux Institute; Dr. Douglas Sawyer, Chief Academic Officer of MaineHealth and Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, the Maine Medical Center; and Dr. Robert Kramer, Director of Research, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Maine Medical Center. There are opportunities for collaboration with other faculty at the Roux Institute, MaineHealth, and the College of Engineering, Northeastern University.
