English Instructor

STATUS: Full-time, 9-month, benefited

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking an instructor to teach first-year composition, pre first-year composition, and other potential arts/humanities disciplines (i.e., literature, humanities, music, and/or art) to undergraduate students in associate degree and certificate programs. This position includes curriculum development, outcomes assessment, institutional committee work, program promotion, distance delivery of coursework, and community service and outreach.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Master’s degree in Composition and Rhetoric, or in English, or in English Education, or in a closely related discipline. Successful teaching experience at the secondary or college level or equivalent professional experience.

 

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Doctorate degree in disciplines listed above. Graduate course work in another discipline, such as speech, communication, literature, music, or art. Successful teaching experience at the secondary or community college level. Experience with a Learning Management System.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Successful applicant will be required to pass a criminal history background investigation prior to employment.

SALARY: $45,000-$48,000. NDUS state benefit package, including 100% full coverage for family health insurance provided.

STARTING DATE: August 18, 2025
