The Department of Communication is one of the largest departments in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at NC State, with nearly 700 undergraduate majors and about 70 full- or
part-time graduate students (M.S. and Ph.D.). We have two graduate programs: a Masters of Science in Communication and an interdisciplinary PhD program in Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media in partnership with the Department of English. The Department of Communication at NC State is an accomplished community of students, staff members, teachers, and researchers with diverse intellectual interests in the communication arts and sciences. Essential Job Duties
The Department of Communication at North Carolina State University (NC State) invites applications for part-time Lecturer positions. Multiple hires may be made from this posting, with most positions being part-time and requiring in-person instruction. The position(s) are one-semester or one-year, non-tenure-track appointments with the possibility of renewal.
Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in communication as well as coordinating, planning, preparing, delivering, and evaluating classroom instruction and related activities. Other duties may be negotiated with the department head.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Requires master’s degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.
Other Required Qualifications
- Commitment to teaching excellence
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience in communication at the college level and demonstrated teaching excellence.
