Key Responsibilities
The Youth Development Director will lead the BAR program @ Thurgood Marshall — a groundbreaking, school-based initiative supporting middle school youth with high-quality, no-cost after-school and summer programming.
This full-time Director role sits at the intersection of education, youth development, and community, and is ideal for a dynamic professional who thrives in collaborative, youth-centered environments.
- Design and deliver after-school and summer learning experiences in partnership with school staff.
- Supervise a team of part-time and full-time youth development professionals.
- Serve as a core member of the school’s leadership team, aligning programs with student supports.
- Partner with families, educators, and community stakeholders to create a culture of belonging.
- Use data to track student engagement and program outcomes, driving continuous improvement.
- Manage program operations, communications, and budget oversight.
What You Bring
- 2+ years in youth development, education, or nonprofit leadership.
- Experience supervising staff and managing program logistics.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Commitment to anti-racist, inclusive leadership.
- Bachelor's degree preferred (Associate’s required).
