
Assistant Professor, Accounting (Tenure-Track)
Job Description
Summary of Position
Full-time, tenure-track position. Teaches financial accounting and intermediate accounting in both face-to-face and web-based modalities. Faculty members are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, experiential learning, and student engagement; conduct impactful scholarly research; collaborate with the business community to support both economic development and academic goals; and contribute to the department, college and university in ways that support strategic priorities.
The WCBA is located in a state-of-the-art facility and includes the Lariccia School of Accounting and Finance, as well as the Department of Management & Marketing. Our AACSB-accredited programs include a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with seven majors, an online MBA, and a Master of Science in Business Analytics. The college is supported by 37 faculty members and serves approximately 1,500 undergraduate business majors and 600 graduate students. To support student success, WCBA houses the Center for Undergraduate Student Services and the Center for Career Management. We also host the Ohio Small Business Development Center at YSU, the Export Assistance Network, and the APEX Accelerator.
With a strong emphasis on career readiness, WCBA provides students with hands-on learning experiences using industry-standard technologies in business analytics and collaboration. Our students earn professional certifications and engage in client-based consulting projects. Outside the classroom, they make a real-world impact through initiatives such as Beta Alpha Psi, the Student Investment Fund, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), and various philanthropic programs that benefit the community.
Position Information
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.
Qualifications and Competencies
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None
Minimum Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in Accounting or DBA, by the time of appointment, from an AACSB-accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant. Teaching experience and/or business experience. Experience conducting research. Experience working and collaborating with the business community.
