While receiving leadership support from the Chief Mission Officer (CMO), the Vice President of Education, Training, Development, and Outcomes will advance our mission by providing leadership, guidance and support to ensure all learning, training, and development at Goodwill NCW are tied to the organizational mission and delivering the outcomes to maximize impact across our communities. The Vice President must possess an expanded knowledge of Equitable Evaluation - a mindset and practice which repositions evaluation to advance equity and expand ideas of objectivity, validity, rigor, and embraces complexity. The Vice President will generate an understanding of and build capacity for skill building, job placement and improved financial stability using mixed methods (qualitative, quantitative, etc.) to conceptualize and implement a longitudinal strategic learning plan designed to improve internal practices and measure Mission impact. This position ensures all activities are performed in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, values and brand of Goodwill NCW.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategically leads efforts to develop and maintain meaningful programs and services in communities throughout Goodwill NCWs service delivery area.
  • Works with Mission team members to ensure that the programs and services provided are of high quality and meet the requirements of licensures, accreditations, fee for service contracts and grant awards.
  • Ensures Goodwill NCW utilizes internal and external data, including lived experience, to design and deliver quality programming and provide a platform for foundation-wide learning and improvements to ensure that we become a best-in-class learning and outcomes organization.
  • Ensures the development of knowledge management systems, processes, and practices that categorize, store, and manage results and learning.
  • Collaborates with peers and teams to analyze trends in the advocacy, grantmaking, and investment portfolios for learnings and impact to share internally, with the Board of Directors, and externally.
  • Creates a learning environment in which theory, action, and reflection occur through a lens of innovation and measured outcomes.
  • In partnership with the CMO, becomes a champion of our culture.
  • Leads or sponsors cross-functional projects which address continuous improvement of processes.
  • Interacts with the community and promotes a positive public image of Goodwill NCW.
  • Maintains connections with partners to deliver on the needs of our communities.

Education, Skills & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Education, Human Services, Social Services, or another related field.
  • Advanced degree in social sciences, evaluation, or related field with experience in research and program/systems evaluation.
  • MPA, MPP, MBA, or PhD and communications experience preferred.
  • At least 5-7 years of progressive and outcomes-oriented leadership or administration experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a diverse audience and all levels of leadership.
  • Exceptional communication skills that promote a free flow of information throughout the organization and demonstrates candor and openness when discussing major organizational initiatives.
  • At least an intermediate level of competency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
  • Experience in creating and growing culture and successfully leading people and managing people processes.
  • Experience with nonprofit organizations is preferred.

  • Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive team member contact and frequent interruptions.

  • Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, including use of a computer keyboard.
  • Travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation.
  • Verbally communicate to exchange information.
